What does "lapsed" mean on MahaRERA?

A MahaRERA registration is valid until the completion date the builder declared, plus any extension MahaRERA grants. When that date passes and the builder has filed neither a completion (occupancy) certificate nor an extension, the portal shows the project's status as Lapsed. Deregistered means MahaRERA cancelled the registration.

Lapsed doesn't always mean a stalled site: some projects are finished on the ground but the builder never filed for completion. To see where a project stands, search it on AskRera or open its district list below, filtered to lapsed projects, and check the latest filings and extension history.

How these numbers are counted

Lapsed
MahaRERA's own Lapsed status: the declared (or extended) completion date has passed with no completion or extension filed. District and locality counts also include deregistered projects.
Extended before lapsing
The last completion date on file is later than the date first declared at registration, so the project had been given more time before it lapsed.
Units sold
Units the builder reported as sold in the project's latest progress filing. Many older registrations don't list units, so these totals undercount.
